In his first quarter 2021 economic forecast, Deloitte Senior Manager Daniel Bachman said, “we believe that enough Americans will be vaccinated by the summer to allow most normal activity to resume” and he “anticipates a spike in consumer spending in the summer and fall.”
Following the latest announcement from the CDC, Americans who are fully vaccinated “can resume activities without wearing a mask or staying 6 feet apart” and can resume activities that they did prior to the pandemic. That means there are millions of people who were given the green light to participate in the economy in ways they haven’t done in over a year, and that number will continue to rise.
