Stay Ready So You Don’t Have to Get Ready

Americans are ready to resume pre-pandemic activities, but are you ready for them?

Business opportunities are opening up across America as we transition to a post-pandemic world. In his first quarter 2021 economic forecast, Deloitte Senior Manager Daniel Bachman said, “we believe that enough Americans will be vaccinated by the summer to allow most normal activity to resume” and he “anticipates a spike in consumer spending in the summer and fall.”

Following the latest announcement from the CDC, Americans who are fully vaccinated “can resume activities without wearing a mask or staying 6 feet apart” and can resume activities that they did prior to the pandemic. That means there are millions of people who were given the green light to participate in the economy in ways they haven’t done in over a year, and that number will continue to rise.

People are gearing up for an exciting summer, but is your business ready for them? It’s been a brutal year financially and perhaps you’ve sacrificed your marketing budget to cut costs. But now that people are ready to safely resume pre-pandemic activities — including summer vacations — it is crucial that you reestablish a connection with your existing customers and welcome some new ones.

Your marketing budget is an investment in your business’s future. In his economic forecast, Bachman said, “Households put aside over US$5 trillion in the first three quarters of 2020; that’s a huge amount of money that households that have remained employed during the pandemic are likely to want to spend.” Your customers are out there, ready to spend money on flights, hotels, and events and to purchase clothes, luggage, sports equipment, and gifts for the family they’ve missed seeing in person, ready to eat inside at a restaurant and go to bars with some friends.

Your customers are out there, ready to spend money.

But the pandemic has changed people’s habits and what captured their attention two years ago likely won’t work now, especially if you’ve sacrificed your marketing budget during the pandemic. If you’re ready to reconnect with your customers, give us a call and we’ll discuss a customized marketing plan for your business. Together we can plan for your customers to remain engaged not only during this summer, but for the rest of the year.
